About Sirona Technologies

At Sirona Technologies, we are developing direct air capture (DAC) technology to remove CO2 from the air and combat climate change. We are a young startup and are now scaling up our prototypes into industrial machines ready for mass production.

We are looking for an exceptional and mission-driven electromechanical engineer to design mechanisms and electromechanical component of our machine. As a member of the core team, you will be expected to rapidly grow your responsibilities in order to help fulfill our ambitious goals.

Responsibilities

As an electromechanical engineer, you will:‍

  • Design mechanisms and structures of sub-components, study and select industrial hardware (pumps, compressors, pipes, etc).
  • Apply principles of mechanics, electronics, mechatronics for dynamic components, actuators, automation, programming, and machine design.
  • Work with machine designers to optimize mechanical designs with a focus on manufacturability, simplicity, and low capex.
  • Support the selection of integrated sensors and instrumentation for monitoring key process parameters.
  • Lead the installation, commissioning and tests of the sub-systems you have designed.
  • Participate in the development and testing of prototypes, and use results to inform and refine designs.
  • Design and build small-scale test benches for experimental validation of new technologies and concepts.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to specify and procure components for electrical and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues that arise during the development, testing, or manufacturing stages.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in electromechanical engineering, materials science, and related fields to continually improve our DAC system’s design.
Requirements
  • 2 years of professional experience as an electromechanical/mechatronics engineer or in a related field, with a strong background in electronics.
  • Experience in designing and analyzing mechanical systems and components.
  • Knowledge of sensors and industrial automation systems.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Smart but humble, with a bias for action.
Nice to haves
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to mechanical design and manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with prototype fabrication and testing.
If you're passionate about fighting climate change and eager to join a fast-paced organization where your contributions will have a substantial impact, we'd love to hear from you.
